An Amish Kitchen Novella Review

Three Sweet Stories To Nourish Your Soul

By Beth Wiseman, Kelly Long, Amy Clipston All three stories take place in Paradise, Pennsylvania

The first story was A Taste of Faith By Kelly long

This is a story where beauty is not found simply on the outside but of inner beauty & strength. The main character Fern Zook is not what you would see on a Woman’s Magazine but one of solid strength and a heart of gold. She is a fine display of servant hood to Christ. She loves to help others with her herbal remedies but what she doesn’t realize is how she helps heal the cold heart of  Abram and helped him to realize he truly did need a helpmeet in life. In a world where girls are told the outside matters most this story is refreshing to show us what’s on the inside of more beautiful. I like this story as it turns our focus on the inner beauty of women.

The next story is A Spoonful of Love By Amy Clipston

This story is so sweet. It’s a story of Paradise Inn a cozy little Bed & Breakfast run by Hannah King in Amish country. Her mom & dad no longer run the family Inn because of the fathers declining health. Hannah thought for sure she would eventually date the fellow she adored since grade school. But soon that did change when a new guest arrived with more than a ton of luggage. He had emotional baggage as well with deep scares of the heart of a past he wished he could forget. Soon Hannah and the new guest Stephen Esh hit it off . He was so helpful around the Inn, strong & persistent & caring towards her Dad that she could help to fall for him. But her controlling mother had a thing or two to say to try & stop it.  Stephen ran away from his problems in Ohio but realized he ran into healing of the heart at Paradise Inn. This is a wonderful story of healing and I love it.

The final story was A Recipe for Hope By Beth Wisemen

Eve Binders home was hit be a storm and the damage was so much she had to move her entire family back in with her Mother while the home was being repaired. She dreaded having to live with her mother in fear of their strained relationship.  Her Mother was unbending in the old ways yet Eve loved to take advantage of things the Bishop said are now ok. With both women stubborn, Eve was making the best of her time there with her mother as she went about a task her aligning mother asked her to do. Record on cards her mother’s prizes dishes and Eve even included found memories of their cooking times together, the only times they got along. While there at her mothers house time, hurt & lost time over the last few years was hanging heavy on both women’s hearts. But a turn of events with in their dwelling together brought them together instead of further apart. They both came to realize the love they have for each other.  This was a wonderful story of restoration not only between her & her mom but Eves teens as well who had a major falling out only to come out stronger as brothers forever!

Hey Heather! Thanks for commenting. Yeah the last story was hard for me to read because it cut to close to home. Me & my mom had a hard time with our relationship. She is now passed away so my heart was tender in this area.
